- Advised Skin Institute Limited on the establishment of St Marks Surgical Limited, a day stay surgical facility providing a range of surgical and skin treatment services in Auckland. Facilitated fund raising for the company, which involved preparation of financial models and negotiation with banks.
- Advised Sleep & Breathing (NZ) Limited, a private provider of sleep research, lung function test and other healthcare services, on the company's expansion strategy, and facilitated fund raising for the company. This role involved preparation of financial models, structuring of banking arrangements, negotiation and providing commercially focused financial advice.
- Currently project managing and providing financial advice on the establishment of Ormiston Hospital, a new private hospital under development in the new town of Ormiston, Manukau City.
- Currently providing financial and banking advice in regard to the establishment of a new private hospital North of Auckland City.
- Currently advising Sleeping and Breathing Group, a private provider of specialist research and healthcare services, on the company’s expansion strategy. This role involves preparation of financial models, structuring of banking arrangements, negotiation and providing commercially focused financial advice.
- Undertook a strategic review of Information and Communications Technology requirements for Capital & Coast DHB. This role incorporated Information Systems planning and development, project management and ICT human resource capability implementation.
- Undertook a review of governance relationships for Hawkes Bay DHB.
- Advised TRG Group in identifying potential acquisitions to complement the group’s existing radiology activities.
- Project managed the implementation of a major IT system (case-mix) at Health Waikato and Counties Manukau DHB. The case-mix system was used by medical staff and managers across the organisation and provided detailed information on resources used in treating patients. This was seen as one of the most successful case-mix implementations in the Southern Hemisphere and the system is still being used extensively by Health Waikato today.
- Undertook an integration project at South Auckland Health which focused on Primary and Secondary Service integration to reduce the acute admissions to Middlemore Hospital. The assignment involved disease management projects and integrated IT system development.
- Undertook for the Crown a review of health delivery systems and structures (e.g. Far North health system) resulting in significant improvements in health and community buy-in.
- Designed the structure of a National Coronial Pathology Service with a single employer on behalf of the Ministry of Justice to replace the present ad hoc set of structures within District Health Boards and private laboratories and to enable the recruitment and retention of forensic pathologists in New Zealand.
- Conducted a review and scope of the administrative and support needs of the New Zealand Office of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine.
- Project managed the implementation of first Pacific Primary Health Organisation (PHO), Tapasefika Health Trust. Subsequently provided ongoing financial and management support to the organisation.
- Managed a project to re-establish the Northland breast screening and assessment programme on behalf of Breast Screen Auckland and North and assisting with BSAN’s contribution to the configuration review being carried out by National Screening Unit.
- Completed a service, operational and financial viability review of Clevely Hospital (a continuing care and Psycho-geriatric unit) in Fielding on behalf of Mid Central District Health Board. The purpose was to determine whether the Clevely Hospital would continue operations.
- Developed an integrated care plan for Maori in South Auckland for South Auckland Health.
- Developed a strategic plan for Ranfurly Veterans Home and Hospital that includes the commercial development plan for the rest home, hospital and Alzheimer and age-related dementia unit.
- Completed a strategic planning and budgeting process for Te Roopu Taurima o Manukau, an independent Maori disability and mental health provider that manages twenty-two residential homes. The project required reviewing strategic initiatives for each major operation of the organisation and costing specific projects.
