- Undertook a strategic review of Energy For Industry, a business unit of Meridian Energy. This role involved assessing the competitive position of the Unit's various business activities; preparing a financial model and making recommendations as to the future relationship and commercial arrangements between Meridian and the Unit.
- Advised on development of the business case, structuring and negotiations for Titanium Park Limited, a large commercial development involving Hamilton International Airport and McConnell Properties Limited encompassing 78 hectares of non-aeronautical land surrounding the airport.
- Developed a Public Private Partnership business case for the proposed Penlink toll road for Rodney District Council, valued at in excess of $160 million. Our work included financially modelling Penlink over a 35 year period, development of alternative financing structures, consideration of alternative options and risk analysis. This enabled the Council to approve the project and to subsequently present a business case to Government for approval.
- Assessed the financial viability of establishing a combined residential and business $100 million broadband network with TelstraClear and a local utility company and were subsequently involved in negotiating a partnership agreement between the two parties.
- Advised the Deputy Chief of Army, New Zealand Army, on commercial matters. This role included inter alia, contract negotiations, intellectual property ownership and establishment of industry clusters.
- Advised Spotless Services Ltd on a range of matters including successfully bidding for a number of large New Zealand contracts, acquisitions and financial reporting systems.
- Advised Massey University, one of New Zealand's leading tertiary research institutions, on financial reporting and performance measures.
- Managed the process to establish Auckland City Parking, with a $100 million in assets, as a Commercial Entity. The project included writing a Governance paper, Statement of Corporate Intent, and Business Plan and preparation of financial budgets.
- Chaired the CEO Designate Taskforce, which oversaw the restructuring of Manukau City Council and involved a major redesign of the way Council delivers its services to ratepayers.
- Identified for the Auckland Regional Council the quantum of the likely twenty year local authority funding requirements for waste water, stormwater and water supply infrastructure in the Auckland region and comparing this with likely revenue.
- Completed a review of existing infrastructure in Northland for the Northland Regional Council, with a view to identifying gaps and constraints in the current infrastructural mix and possible funding options as to how these deficiencies might be addressed.
- Undertook a gas pipeline asset valuation using the historical cost approach for the Commerce Commission, as part of the Gas Control Inquiry to establish efficient gas asset values and to determine an appropriate return on investment on gas pipeline assets.
